Project Profile
Arirang Dowon is a café and bakery in Yongin, South Korea, designed by Atelier SOW. The project reinterprets Korean landscape imagery and ink-wash aesthetics through a central void, waterscape, planting and deep ink-toned walls.
A water-wall façade marks the transition from the everyday surroundings into the café. Inside, the central landscape can be experienced from both levels, while a roasting bar and scent zone guide visitors through the coffee experience.
